Cath studied Art and Social context at Dartington college of Art, Devon which ignited her passion for participatory art before moving to London to study MA Fine art textiles at Goldsmiths college and establish her community art practice. She is one of the co-Directors of East Side Print CIC
Cath creates screen prints that engage with the immediacy and potential of using paper cut stencil. She uses strong colour, playing with the dynamic of transparent and opaque layers combined with positive and negative elements. She is addicted to overprinting and the surprise element of the subsequent colours that result. Cath rarely creates editions preferring to work fluidly with paper stencils, photo exposed textures and off set screen printing to build her final prints.
Her recent body of work is an on going series of screen prints Town Planning a personal perspective of navigating the city with directional dyslexia where pattern and texture become the visual sign posts that make up the street.
